logopoli-newPolitecnico di Milano is the largest Italian Technical University with over 38.000 students. The project will involve personnel of the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria (DEIB) which, with about 840 members, is one of the largest European ICT departments both for size and for the quality of its research. POLIMI is a vital institution capable of promoting education, fundamental and applied research, and technology transfer to companies.

POLIMI will participate in this project through a cross-disciplinary research team of around 20 people with competencies covering Embedded and Cyber Physical Systems, Design Methodologies, Low-power Design of Software and Hardware, Compiler Construction, and Embedded Systems Security and Data Privacy. The group has been active for over two decades in designing architectures and developing methodologies and prototype tools to support the automation of different phases of design of advanced embedded and computing systems. The group participated in more than a dozen of cooperative European projects during the past FPs on hardware/software codesign, modelling and optimization of energy, design of wireless sensor networks, and other related topics.

Role in the project

POLIMI leads and coordinates the dissemination activities. It participate in the Use Case 5 – V2I cooperation for traffic management and it provides technical contributions to WP3 and WP4 on secure communication protocols and to WP5 on algorithms for critical driving conditions detection and energy efficient on board unit.
