Role in the project
The primary industrial impact of DNV GL’s involvement in SafeCOP is to utilize competence and knowledge gained through SafeCOP to make Recommended Practices (RPs) to Maritime, Oil and Gas and Energy industries. Results of SafeCOP will position DNV GL as a market leader certifying unmanned ships and use of unmanned vehicles for Energy and Oil & Gas installations. As DNV GL is involved heavily in making IMO codes, results of SafeCOP can also provide valuable inputs to move the Maritime industry towards using more unmanned ships in a safer manner.
